Day 1: Airport – Chilaw – Dambulla/ Sigiriya

  • Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport. Meet, Greet and respectively transfer from Airport to Chilaw Manavari Temple
  • Legend: Manavari is the first lingam installed and prayed by Lord Rama and till date this lingam is called as Ramalinga Shivan. Rameshwaram is the only other lingam in the world named after Lord Rama.
  • Muneshwaram: Legend: Lord Rama after his victorious battle left for Ayodhya in one of King Ravana’s Vimanas. He felt he was being followed by Bramahathi Dosham as he killed King Ravana who was a Brahmin. He stopped the Vimana at this juncture because he felt at this place the “Bramahathi Dosham” was not following him. He descended from the Vimana and asked God Shiva for a remedy. God Shiva blessed Lord Rama and advised him to install and pray four lingams in Manavari, Thirukoneshwaram, Thiruketheeswaram and Rameshwaram in India, as the only remedy to get rid of the Dosham.
  • Transfer from Chilaw to Trincomalee/Polonaruwa/Sigiriya for over night stay

Day 2: Dambulla/Sigiriya – Trincomalee

  • After breakfast proceed for the sightseeing of Trincomalee Little visited in recent years, the atmospheric city of Trincomalee is set amongst miles of golden-sand beaches, where visitors are few and a warm welcome is assured. Located on one of the world’s best natural harbors, the city was disputed by Dutch, Portuguese and British powers, and was the headquarters for the Allied forces in World War II.
    Now it is one of Sri Lanka’s most pristine tourist destinations, with Buddhist and Hindu Temples set alongside churches and mosques. Visit Shakipeeth and Koneswaram Temple.
  • Dinner and overnight stay at Hotel

Day 3: Trincomalee – Kandy

  • After breakfast at Hotel depart from Trincomalee to Kandy Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Kandy . The historic city about 480m above sea level surrounded by mountains was known to Sri Lankan as Kanda Uda Rata, which means the hill country. Kandy was home to Sri Lanka’s last independent Kingdom, which survived two centuries of colonial incursion before finally falling to the British at the beginning of the nineteenth century. Visit the Temple of the tooth.
  • Early evening, you will visit a Kandyan Dance performance and be treated to a spectacular fire walking finale. Kandy is also famous for its shopping, gems and jewellery, handicrafts, batiks, silks etc. And you will have the opportunity of browsing to your heart’s content.

Day 4: Kandy – Nuwara Eliya

  • Breakfast at Hotel. Transfer from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya.
  • Nuwara Eliya meaning “the city of dawn” is the town at the highest elevation (about above sea level) in Sri Lanka and its tallest peak, Piduruthalagala (2555m) could be seen from here. The city established by the British in the nineteenth century, and known as “Little England” and is a popular holiday resort for Sri Lankans & tourists due to its cool climate and quaint colonial feel with its little bungalows surrounded by hedgerows. Nuwara Eliya is also the heart of the tea country and you can visit a plantation and a factory en route here and witness how the famous “Ceylon Tea” is brewed. Visit Hanuman Temple & Seetha Amman Temple
  • Hanuman Temple : In the hills of Ramboda where Hanuman was searching for Sita, the Chinmaya Mission of Sri Lanka built the Sri Bhakta Hanuman Temple which is visited by thousands of devotees every year.
  • Seetha Amman Temple: About 1.5km away is Seetha Amman Temple, said to be built at the spot where Ravana held Sita captive, as related in the Ramayana. The small temple has a collection of statues, including a couple of Kali images Overnight stay at Nuwara eliya.

Day 5: Nuwara Eliya – Colombo

  • Breakfast at Hotel. Transfer from Nuwara eliya to Colombo. Later visit the first Anjaneyar temple in Sri Lanka and Kelaniya temple.
  • Anjaneyar Temple: This is the first Anjaneyar Temple in Sri Lanka and also the only Panchamuga (five faced) Anjaneyar Temple in Sri Lanka. Its the only temple in the world to have a chariot for Ajanyear.
  • Kelaniya Temple: After King Ravana’s death, Vibeeshana was coroneted as King of Lanka by Lakshmana at Kelaniya. There are murals enshrined outside the Buddhist temple depicting the crowning of Vibeeshana. The Kelani River is mentioned in the Valmiki Ramayana and Vibeeshana palace was said to be on the banks of this river.
  • Overnight stay at Colombo.

Day 6: Departure
After breakfast transfer from Colombo to Airport for departure

Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Airport – Chilaw – Dambulla/ Sigiriya
